coming back with some beauty content

Do we still read blog posts anymore? Was just wrapping up the beauty empties for this month, and thought maybe I should do a new blog post. I really missed these old school content. It Cosmetics - Confidence in an Eye Cream -  a light souffle-like texture eye cream. It came from one of those Ulta gwps. Nothing special to call out but I won't mind trying again in any gift with purchase. Mediheal Madecasson Blemish Repair Serum -  this I actually purchase from Olive Young. Has a light herbal medicine scent and was highly raved by some content creators. Not exactly sure how I feel about it yet. Don't think I see much difference when my breakouts happen. Emborian BB crayon - discontinued now, but I purchased originally hoping to try more BB cream concealer. This was a bit disappointing and cakey. Laura Mercier Mascara -  another freebie gap, but I did like how lightweight and invisible it merges with my lashes, though doesn't hold a curl/length for that long. Mayb...

Entertaining Toddlers/Preschoolers on a rainy day

With all the hurricanes and tropical storms going through the East coast, I thought I'll share how we keep my kids entertained when going out isn't an option. Being a mom, there's so much scrutiny to limit screen time for your kids. Though I personally believe that it was television that helped sparked my 2 year old's speech. My daughter at the time was recommended for early intervention due to a limited vocabulary. And with a newborn to take care of, we resorted to giving her her first screen time exposure.  Her vocabulary exploded almost immediately.

Marcus by Goldman Sachs - Online Savings Account at 4.40% APY

Here's another personal finance tip to follow all the other credit card sign on bonus posts, current bank savings interest rates are at its all time high again. Many online banks are offering over 4% interest compared to big brick and mortar banks that give only 0.25%.  Don't let your money depreciate with inflation! Two of my favorite online banks right now are Ally and Marcus by Goldman Sachs. Currently Marcus by Goldman Sachs is offering a 4.40% APY. And if you're new to the bank, you can use my referral link to give you an extra 1% for 3 months, that's 5.40% APY.  Marcus is an online savings account so you will not be able to withdraw cash from it. Best paired with another bank like Ally that provides you with a debit card so you can withdraw funds.  You will still be able to withdraw by transferring money electronically from Marcus to any other bank institution.  I personally feel like Marcus is a good place to put your emergency funds. This is the little nest ...

Capital One Venture X Card Sign Up Offer - 75000 miles

My current favorite travel credit card goes to Capital One's Venture X Card. It comes with a $395 annual fee but a $300 annual travel credit as well as 10,000 miles anniversary bonus (which pretty much offsets the annual fee). But on top of that you have access to Priority Pass Lounges as well as free authorized users. Currently they're offering a 75,000 miles sign up bonus - which is worth a basic $750 even on a direct statement credit redemption.  Feel free to use my referral link (please note that I might receive a bonus if you use my link. TIA!) Love, Melissa Disclosure of Material Connection: Some of the links in the post above are “affiliate links.” This means if you click on the link and purchase the item, I will receive an affiliate commission. Regardless, I only review products or services I use personally and believe will add value to my readers. Additional info can be found here .

Discover it Card - $100 Sign up Bonus

Not my usual post - but I realized that Discover's it card hardly ever as a sign up bonus.  But as a current cardholder, I'm able to share a referral link which gives new card applicants a $100 sign up bonus. (Please note that I also receive a bonus if you use my affiliate link. TIA!) Discover's it card is usually something I keep in my pocket because they have 5% cashback on various categories every quarter. It changes slightly every year - but for example for this October till end of December, you can get 5% cashback at Amazon and Target (perfect timing for the holiday spending). Otherwise, it's a solid 1% cashback (1.2% if you redeem for gift cards that give you up to 20% bonus redemption power). Currently new card applicants also get double cashback for the first year of use.  As a quick reminder - sign up bonuses are only worth it if you plan to clear out your balances every month. If you carry a balance, it's not wise to sign up for new credit cards. All op...
