These are definitely unprecedented times. COVID-19 have such a global impact, I don't think anyone in our current generation have ever experienced. And adding these circumstances to a new mom is beyond overwhelming. Social distancing is not a new concept to a new mom, heck I've been joking to my friends - I've been social distancing during the entire duration of my maternity leave. A newborn's immune system is not yet strong enough for venturing with the outside world hence the fourth trimester (aka newborn's first 3 months) we've been pretty much staying put at home already.
For introverts like me, staying at home with family watching TV marathons might easily be the best pasts times. But when you have a 2yo toddler, a Bones marathon (currently streaming on Amazon Prime) might not be wise and I am not about to loop through hours of Cocomelon. Entertainment for a 2yo would also be easier without a needy newborn around.

Adding on top of this, ensuring that we're able to care for our children when grocery and household shopping now becoming alarmingly difficult. Don't even get me started on the hunt for baby necessities like formula, diapers and wipes which are constantly out of stock from major online retailers. The stress and anxiety that comes with worrying about not being able to provide for your young vulnerable children weighs heavy over my head daily.
This post is not meant to share any solution just a little diary entry of what's on my mind lately. If you're a parent and if any of these feelings sound familiar, know that you're not alone. I long for all these to pass and for my children to be able to enjoy life outdoors again. In the mean time, please stay safe and healthy!
