With the Amazon Prime Day going on, I thought it would be interesting to share some of the things that I had included in my baby registry for my first child. And for a future post, what I added for my second child.
In the beginning, both me and hubby were uncomfortable setting up a registry - it almost feels like we're asking for/expecting gifts from family and friends, but a friend of mine suggested we create one just so it's easier for those who really want to gift us something tangible (besides gift cards or cash). We're very grateful for our family and friends! Most of the big ticket items were purchased by us towards to end, because 1) first time parents indecisiveness and 2) take advantage of the Amazon Baby Registry perks - the completion discount (a 15% discount on all items that wasn't purchased off your registry).
As an Amazon Prime member, setting up a Baby Registry (affiliated link
here) is easy. Plus as long as $10 worth of products are purchased (by you or anyone else), you will receive a Baby Welcome gift box. Good full size goodies like a swaddle blanket and a Philips Avent bottle.

Amazon Baby Registry Welcome Gift (Winter 2019 version) |
Here are the top picks from my original baby registry - tried and tested! These will definitely be things I recommend for any new parent, plus some can be reused for sibilings.

Ubbi Garbage pail (clickable image) |
The Ubbi Diaper pail - a super
expensive garbage can! But it contains the smell so well and looks pretty. 😄 Just a note though - it traps moisture as well so will need to do routine cleaning - easily fixable leaving it out in the sun (gets the smell out too).

Halo Bassinet (clickable image) |
B
oth my babies were sleeping in the Halo for the first 6 months until they were able to sit up on their own. I love that it can swivel over our thicker mattress. And I can still see them through the mesh.

Munchkin Wipe Warmer (clickable image)
|
The Munchkin Wipe Warmer seems so gimmicky - but this is a
must-have to avoid pee-inducing cold wipe shock to an already wiggly baby.
|
Boppy Pillow (clickable image) |
A nursing pillow is important to avoid back pains. This is a not thick enough for my torso, so i usually have to prop another pillow underneath to nurse without back pain, but this was a wonderful lounger and easily props up a baby for tummy time or sitting up for a photo op.
That's it for the key things that I wanted to highlight for a baby registry for first-time parents. Were any of these on your list? Anything else you would recommend? Let me know if you got anything from Amazon Prime Day deals too!

Melissa
